My secret life as a marathon runner for leukemia

This is a “day in the life of a HealthyPetNet Rep”, so I just want to say that I also have a maybe-not-so-secret-life as a marathon runner. It’s my way of fighting leukemia.

My first season was last year and I went from old and out of shape to youthful and so fit and trim! More than that, it entirely changed my life. What an incredible way to give back.

One of my teammates runs for her five-year-old son, Mason, who has survived the first 52 weeks of a 100-week chemotherapy plan. See his blog at http://mightymason.wordpress.com/

I am coming back this year as a mentor, meaning, I’ll help my little group of teammates learn how to raise money for their fight for leukemia.

I’m VERY excited and can’t wait to run with my long-lost cousin and many others in the San Diego Marathon on May 31 of 2009!!

Feb 25, Is there Really More to Love or Just Less Time….. ?

Veterinarians warn about dogs slipping into the fleshy grip of the obesity epidemic, much like their owners. About 30% of the dog population is overweight. Fat dogs may suffer obesity-related diseases such as heart and circulatory diseases, joint problems and diabetes. Fat dogs are also more prone to respiratory problems, cancer, reproductive disorders and suffer a decreased quality of life. Overweight dogs need to be rehabilitated by: less calories from food and more exercise. It is that simple! A quick test for you to check upon your dog’s weight status is that it should be easy to feel the ribs and there should be no fat hanging from its abdomen.

How do I tell my son I had to have his pet mice destroyed?

Question by liebekatz2: How do I tell my son I had to have his pet mice destroyed?
My son is 10. The mice have been sick for quite a while with mange-mites. We had the mice to the vet, who prescribed medication for them, which didn’t help. The only thing left was to have the mice destroyed. I have to pick my son up from school in an hour. How should I tell him?

I wouldn’t tell him. Just play it like they got loose and got out of the house because he may get so upset with you for killing them.

Skin Tight Savage and the Cycloptic Mange Mites from Hell – Jake Curran

*Audio is a bit crap so maybe use a set of headphones for less crap sound* Felt like recording a little solo tonight. Wanted to try out a few new ideas, some went well some went not so well (tapped slides!) but I wanted the video to be spontaneous, got a bit silly towards the end. Enjoy the faces!
