    As soon as I called out, “Sarcoptes, sarcoptes, hooray, hooray!”, all the
    staff that had touched the dog reached for the flea and tick spray.

    Sarcoptes scabiei mites found on a 3-mo old puppy with intense pruritis,
    alopecia, and lichenification of the skin. Normally skin scrapes are
    non-productive for this mite, however I found three on a single
    scrape. Mineral oil prep, 100x, filmed with a Olympus CH30 microscope and
    hand-held Olympus TG-3 camera (focus forced to infinity).
