Question by Luv2no is in the house: Can a tick change color depending on the color of the dogs fur color?
I went to the vet today with my Aunt and the doctor brought out a white tick, and stated that she had never see a white tick before. The receptionest then said that she had pulled many ticks of different colors off her dog, which had many colors in its fur. I then made a statement about ticks changing colors and the vet wasn’t even sure.

No they are not color change. They do come in different types which can be different colors, the white was a genetic mutation, white in the wild would not last long its too easily seen by predators.
