Question by : Living with Scabies..?
My brother lives with his girlfriend and he thought he had crabs because his crotch is itching like crazy, but inbetween his fingers is itching like crazy too. So we took him to the doctor this morning & they said he has Scabies. They gave him some cream but now he has to spend the next 2 weeks at our house so that he can get rid of them.
None of us have ever had Scabies before, & we’re all worried about getting it.
How easy will it be for us to catch it from him?
If i sit down where he has sat will i get it on my crotch too?
I have 3 dogs, will my dogs be able to get it from him? Two of them sleep in the bed with me.
I don’t have a lot of faith in his doctor’s knowledge because she said if it wasn’t for his itching between his fingers he could have crabs. And she didn’t actually see any mites with her eyes but she gave him lice treatment anyways.
SAM – No. They gave him over-the-counter lice treatment which he rubbed on his crotch & fingers. Left on for 10 minutes, then showered; just as instructed.

U can get it from him but only if u sleep in the same bed with him to b safe and make sure that no one esle gets it though u should wash everything ur brother wears or sleeps on also everything at his apartment just cause u sit down where he sat doesn’t matter but u should vacuum off the couch so that the little bugs that give u scabies don’t stay on it ur dogs should b fine though

Choosing both a new dog and the dog food that fits your new dog and your pocketbook are big decisions. FindTheBest is a valuable resource for selecting the best type of dog for any living situation and any personality type. This reference presents the facts in easy to use tables and allows for side-by-side comparisons of different breeds and consumer products so that you can find the best.
This is a great reference for researching everything from the best dog breeds
to the best dry dog food
before purchasing, and for anyone to make a quick and informed decision.
This reference is a great example of how quality dog foods are becoming more popular. However I don’t see my favorites: Taste of the Wild:Salmon and Sweet Potato, Royal Canin:Duck and Potato, Halo Products, and Natural Balance: Many hypoallergenic ingredients.
However this digital chart is an example of how much dog food ingredients are changing . Categories include grain free , organic, and no preservatives. The commercial dog food industry is responding to dog owners that want to feed their pets a healthier mix of ingredients. Dog foods now have better meats, veggies, and fruit instead of carcasses, meat by-products, and grain.
50% of my day is spent treating the result of feeding poor quality dog food or owners not realizing that individual dogs can’t tolerate certain food ingredients.
Some dogs require extra healthy oils or added human food ingredients to some commercial food to make up for the lack of healthful whole foods. Even though the food says”complete and balanced” some dogs need more fat and oils, less carbs, or more moisture in the food. In Dog Dish Diet , I talk about the history of dog food and ways you can help your dog eat a mix of commercial, human food, raw food, and homemade food for better health.
Canned food, slow cooking meat and veggies, feeding raw meaty bones or chicken wings, and feeding raw food may be a better choice than any dry food for those dogs suffering from medical problems.

Some common infections in dogs can result in minimal problems for the health of the animal, but infections can also cause major illnesses that can be fatal. As a responsible pet owner you should be aware of these common infections and their symptoms in order to determine whether your dog is having a bout with an illness that will cure itself, or whether the symptoms are indicative of a serious disease. Early recognition and treatment of infections are your best protection against a severe illness or the death of your pet.
Rabies is one of the most common infections in dogs. The symptoms of rabies may not become noticeable for days or even months after a dog has been infected with the disease. The symptoms include refusing to eat or drink water, a high fever, seizures, and foaming at the mouth. Some dogs will exhibit what is called “mad dog syndrome.” A dog with this syndrome can become extremely aggressive and will attack humans or other dogs. Vaccination is not only your safest protection against a dog contracting rabies, but also is mandatory in almost every city and town in the U.S.
Parvovirus is another extremely contagious disease commonly found in dogs, and also requires vaccination with a follow-up shot every year. It is usually contracted through exposure to the infected feces of a dog or other animal. The symptoms of parvovirus include lethargy, vomiting blood, or diarrhea and loss of appetite.
Ear infections in dogs are more common in floppy eared dogs and dogs who spend most of their time outdoors. The symptoms include excess wax build up in the ear canals, a foul smelling odor from the dog’s ears, and pawing or scratching the ears. Ear infections can be treated with a drying cream from a pet store. Insert the cream into the dog’s ear and rub it in well. The cream will act as a drying agent and soak up the excess moisture in the dog’s ears. Serious ear infections require treatment by a veterinarian.
Distemper is a highly contagious infection that affects the respiratory, nervous and gastrointestinal systems in a dog. Like parvovirus, the infection is transmitted when an animal is exposed to feces that contain the virus. All dogs are at risk of contracting distemper, but puppies under four months of age are especially at risk. There is no cure for distemper but there are medications to help control the disease and keep it from worsening. Distemper vaccinations are also required annually for puppies and dogs.
The common cold in dogs is most commonly caused by kennel cough when an upper respiratory infection affects a dog’s lungs and sinuses. The symptoms include nasal discharge and sneezing, continual coughing spells, and great difficulty in breathing. Dogs who have strong immune systems are usually able fight off the infection before it becomes serious. Kennel cough is extremely infectious but can be treated and eradicated if caught in the early stage.

We got a 4 year old and raised him from a pup. Hes not only a clown that makes me laugh in the hardest of times, but he is a professional theft do to the fact he stoled our heart just being himself. If it wasn't for him the word friend wouldn't exists in my vocabulary. His name is Comrad he is a furry four legged long tail friend of mine. He is the best friend I have. So if you are every down on your luck and loney and is responsible enough I suggest you get a pit bull.
